UPSC Exam Notification 2017 – 2018
UPSC- Union Public Service Commission is the most reputed and challenging exams in our country. It is India’s central organization appointed by the Indian government and is mainly responsible for scheduling prestigious exams all over India. It conducts several exams such as exam for IFS, NDA, IES, SCRA CDS and Civil services examination which is popularly known as IAS exam and it includes IPS, IFS, IRS, and IRPS so on.
The preparation for UPSC exam requires a lot of hard work, determination, and stability. Every year around 5 to 6 lakh candidates appear for this exam. The total number of vacancies varies every year and as per the latest notification 2017 – 2018 the available vacancies are around 980.
The UPSC has recently released the examination date for civil services examination 2018. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 3rd, 2018. Candidates can apply for this exam by filling the UPSC online application form which will be available on 7th February 2018.

- Eligibility and selection criteria
Candidates applying for the UPSC Examination should fulfill all below-mentioned eligibility conditions.
- Should be a citizen of India.
- The age criteria for a candidate should be between 21 to 32 years.
- Candidate appearing for this exam should have a degree in any discipline from recognized university.
- The number of attempt for the preliminary examination should not exceed more than 6 attempts.
- The candidate should be physically fit according to standards for admission to Civil Services Examination.
- Syllabus and exam pattern.
The exam for CSAT is conducted in three stages.
Phase 1: preliminary examination – CSAT.
Phase 2: main examination – CSAT.
Phase 3: those candidates who have cleared both prelims and main are eligible for interview.
Syllabus for CSAT exam includes- Indian History, Geography of India & the World, Political System, Economic and Social Development, Environmental Ecology, General Science, general English, comprehension, grammar, communication skills, logical reasoning problem solving and other general questions related to school level (class 10-12).

- Fees and registration process
The eligible candidates planning for the CSAT exam can apply or register themselves by filling up online applications available on the official website. The application charges are only charged for all male candidates which is Rs. 100/- only and it can be paid either by net banking or by depositing to the prescribed bank through challan. There is no application charge for female and SC / ST / Physically Handicapped candidates.
